Lasting conversations: the lingering scent of the letter ~ I'm old enough to remember when long-distance calls were expensive (yes, even between CA & TX) so getting mail from home was important - & we checked our campus mailboxes every day! And now I just wish I'd saved all of them.
Sun Ovens & DIY Solar ovens (& Here, Here & Here) ~ this week it's so hot here that we don't want to use the oven so we've been BBQing and I've even used the slow cooker set up on the back porch but if this continues I think I should try my hand at solar cooking.
In honor of Elizabeth Elliot's passing on Monday, RedeemedReader re-posted a review from their archives of her daughter's book, Pilipinto’s Happiness (by Valerie Elliot Shepard). It's her story of growing up with the Auca (now called Waorani) tribe.
One of the Biggest Lies the Church Has Taught You ~ Yay, sheep aren't as dumb as lots of people claim. There's even a video of a sheep being clicker trained.
I'm not sure where to put this blog or how to classify it. It's basically about their travels so I'm putting it here for now: Jen's blog: 3toGo
