Almost forgot to share: BSF's December 2011 magazine is available online as a PDF. And as usual they have some excellent suggestions in their Recommended Books (pg 7),
I love this quote that Diane has on her blog "Theology for Girls" ~
"The whole of Scripture is but one entire loveletter, dispatched from the Lord Christ, to His beloved spouse!" ~ Thomas Brooks
For an interesting (enlightening?, frightening?) article on the recent controversy (scandal?) surrounding Rick Warren and the "Kings Way" controversy at his Saddleback Church check out Standing for the Truth. I know a lot of Christian's are defending Warren and that the media can often get things wrong but the whole thing sounds very suspicious to me. As Paul wrote to Timothy: By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you.(2 Timothy 1:14 ESV). And I'd never heard of "Kingdom Circles" - "a simple but highly questionable evangelical tool that people are being taught to draw (sometimes called the “napkin drawing”) to demonstrate how those of other faiths can enter the Kingdom of God without converting to Christianity" - .until listening to a recent Fighting for the Faith podcast.
Did you know that March is National Kidney Month? The National Kidney Foundation has lots of info on their site, both to make people aware of kidney disease, ways to reduce the risk of kidney disease, helpful information for people with kidney disease re: dialysis, transplants, etc. (And they have a 4 out of 4 stars rating at Charity Navigator.) For low/no-salt recipes that are dialysis friendly check out Davita's recipes. The Feta Pasta with Chicken and Asparagus is one of our favorites - even though only one of "us" is on dialysis.
