of Bibles, books & letters...
Being on a fairly tight budget, I’ve been searching the internet for deals and want to share some links to a few and also the deals that others have compiled (so there will be some repetition).

Sorry this post is late. Yesterday turned out to be one of those "nothing went as planned" kind of days and by the evening, I was just to frazzled to log on to the computer and finish this post. So here it is a day late & a dollar short. Thankfully, we were able to get eveything taken care of yesterday so that we don't have to make several trips down the Cajon Pass this weekend. Because of all the road construction they're doing on it, it's often an unpleasant drive on weekdays but on a 3-day, holiday weekend we were afraid the traffic will probably be even worse so we didn't want to go anywhere near it. ;-) Frugal & Miscellaneous:

Wishing everyone all the best in the coming new year. Bible Reading Plans
If you're looking for a new Bible reading plan to use in 2015, there are many to choose from and I thought I'd share a few. Grant Horner's plan is great but it is a lot of daily reading so that you read through the entire Bible in less than a year. Since I'm not a speedy reader and am also involved in BSF (where I get a fair amount of Bible reading doing my homework) and will have more reading to do in the Christian non-fiction book club I'm joining on top of the pleasure reading I want to do, I'll probably stick with the ESV Daily Reading Bible on my Kindle. I bought it last year when it was on sale for $3.99 and having my Kindle keep track of where I am in my reading is very handy. If I'm not able to finish my morning reading before the dogs want out and then their breakfast (they can be pretty insistent), it's easy to stop and then pick right up reading later in the day. That said, all of these plans look like good options.
Happy reading! This week I only have a few links to share, but at least I'm "on time" and I even managed to read most, if not all of these articles. =D Letters & Snail Mail:
Christian Books & Reading:
It's hard to believe that today is Labor Day & it's already September. Time really does fly. Since it is Labor Day though, I'm taking a few hours to relax, surf the internet and do a bit of reading. This evening I hope to write a few more letters - as long as the puppy dogs will comply. "Little girl" isn't happy that "Mr. C" isn't allowed to play or run around for a couple weeks because he finally got neutered and has to wear the cone of shame while he recuperates. Thankfully she takes lots of naps but they don't always coincide with my down time.
While surfing the net, I came across a few links to share:
Yesterday I was off the hill, as the locals say, so didn't have time to post anything. Luckily, there are several Kindle specials that are still good so I'm sharing them today. That's about it though since I haven't had much time the last few days to surf the internet for good articles. Some of these deals are good for a few more days while others end today or tomorrow.
Kindle deals: Non-fiction
* Good news, per Katherine Reay's blog post on GoodReads, Dear Mr. Knightley will be on sale for $3.99 (for both Kindle and Nook) until July 28! Hopefully the link will work for non-members, too. ** But if the GoodReads link doesn't work, I just found her blog/website. Posting this on Thursday since I'll be off the mountain most of the day tomorrow. Kaiser pharmacists may be going on strike next week which means I have to make the hour and 15 minute drive to pick up my husband's prescriptions (we don't want to run out if the strike lasts very long) this week and while we're down there, we figure we should do all of our errands and shopping - no point wasting gas on extra trips. Regular gas in this little tourist town is $4.49 per gallon so we combine all our errands into one trip. Makes for a long day but it's better than several trips down the hill. Have a blessed weekend. Frugal links ~ Depression era recipes:
Last Friday (actually our whole weekend) didn't go as planned so I didn't manage to look for and post any links so I'm playing catch-up today.
Well, actually it's more like a cloudy, drizzly day right now but still, it's perfect weather for staying in by the fireplace and sipping tea (or hot chocolate) and reading, writing letters and working on my Bible study. So I'm just popping in real quick to share a few things I came across while surfing the internet (it helps that we finally have real internet again =D).

I'm not sure where to put this blog or how to classify it. This blogger is a daughter of a friend and while I'm pretty sure she's a Christian, it isn't a Christian blog, or books & reading or letter writing & mail art. It's basically about their travels so I'm putting it here for now:
